Manchester United and Erik ten Hag sent two clear January transfer window sales messages

Manchester United fans have sent a crystal-clear message about their sales policy in the January transfer window. With Financial Fair Play (FFP) tying United's hands somewhat following their big-spending summer, the emphasis this month is on outgoings rather than incomings.

We asked Manchester Evening News readers to tell us whether they would keep or sell a selection of United players who have been linked with moves away from Old Trafford in recent weeks and months.

Thousands of Reds used our tool (have a go yourself below) to give their views, and they were unequivocal in their verdict on two of United's attackers.

A massive 95.6 per cent of those answering the keep or sell questions said United should sell Anthony Martial. The French striker has failed to consistently show the promise that saw him brought to Manchester in 2015 with poor form, injury and illness leaving fans frustrated by him.

And Dutch winger Antony doesn't fare much better in our poll - more than 86pc of respondents want to see him sold. He is yet to live up to the enormous £86m transfer fee that United paid to Ajax to recruit him shortly after Erik ten Hag's arrival at the club.

At the other end of the scale, United supporters are clear that they want to see full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka stay at Old Trafford with nearly 71pc of them giving him a vote of confidence. Despite indifferent form this season, Marcus Rashford also has the support of fans with nearly 70pc saying he should stay, while 66pc also want to see youngster Amad stay at United and fight for a place in the first team.
