Manchester 'tip' CLOSED for 10 days as essential works take place
A household waste recycling centre is closing for 10 days. The tip on Sandfold Lane, in Levenshulme, is shut from today (February 26).
It is due to remain closed until next Wednesday, March 6. Recycle for Greater Manchester says the closure is to due to 'essential works' at the site.
Manchester residents who would usually use the recycling centre are able to visit alternative sites across the region instead. In a post on its website, a spokesperson for Recycle for Greater Manchester said: "Sandfold Lane household recycling centre will be temporarily closed from 8am Monday, February 26 2024 to Wednesday, March 6 2024.

"This is so essential maintenance work can be carried out on site. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, as a Greater Manchester resident you can visit any of the household waste recycling centres across Greater Manchester boroughs (excluding Wigan)."
Alternative tips to Sandfold Lane include Adswood Road, in Cheadle Hulme, Longley Lane, in Sharston, and Ash Road, in Droylsden. For more information see Recycle for Greater Manchester's website.
