The four days to book off over Easter 2024 to get 10 days off work

One neat trick could get you 10 of holiday this Easter while only using four days of annual leave.

Recent research from Travelodge revealed that one in three Brits are hoping to go on holiday this year. While a study from ABTA revealed a 12 per cent increase in people hoping to go on holiday when compared to 2023.

To help fulfill those holiday fantasies, Tenth Revolutionary Group shared its handy little hack to get more than double the time off this Easter by only using a handful of annual leave days. However, to take advantage of the hack, people must be employed in the UK were they get bank holidays off as part of their contract.

Firstly, if you want time off near the end of March, you should look towards Good Friday on March 29. For this you will book Monday, March 25 off through to Thursday, March 28 - this will turn your weekend into a ten-day break.

Following this, you can book Tuesday, April 2 through to Friday, April 5 to get nine days instead of four. Zoë Morris, President of Nigel Frank, a Tenth Revolution Group company, commented: “It’s absolutely vital that we all plan to take breaks, and making use of bank holidays is a great way to structure your time off through the year.

"Time away from work is an essential ingredient when it comes to preventing burnout. It’s also critical for employers to really encourage their staff to take time off.

"A big part of this is manageable workloads that ensure that the idea of taking time off doesn’t actually become a stressor in and of itself for employees.”
