Erik ten Hag has made Amad's Manchester United decision for him

Manchester United's problem with wingers never ceases to end it seems as Amad became the latest player to be linked with the exit door this week.

After a good loan spell at Sunderland last season, many fans had hoped the Ivorian would be given a chance in the first-team. His highlight reel from the Stadium of Light made for some impressive viewing and Erik ten Hag was even posed the question about potentially recalling him as the Reds struggled for goals.

The pre-season trip to America was meant to be the litmus test for his hopes of playing in the first-team but injury in the first fixture against Arsenal curtailed his momentum until the end of 2023. Upon his return, Amad was not immediately integrated into the squad like Kobbie Mainoo but he did make his first Premier League appearance of the campaign at Nottingham Forest.

He was then given another boost in confidence when Ten Hag chose to keep him in January and send Facundo Pellistri out on loan, effectively ending the Uruguayan's ill-fated spell at Old Trafford. However, Amad seems to be heading in the same direction.

Despite the poor form of Antony, the Brazilian is consistently picked ahead of Amad when a substitution needs to be made and barring a ten-minute cameo against Fulham, he has not played in the Premier League since. The winger has every right to be frustrated and it seems Ten Hag's reluctance to give him a chance means the forward will be wanting to move on in the summer.

As harsh as it is, that could be the news Ten Hag wants to hear. United need to drum up some player sales as they teeter worryingly close to the Financial Fair Play (FFP)
