Manchester takeaway crowned the best in the UK

A Bury favourite has been crowned National Takeaway of the Year at the Asian Restaurant & Takeaway Awards. Bombay Cuisine in Prestwich, just by Heaton Park, scored the gong at the annual industry awards ceremony, which took place in London last night.

It also won the award for Best Regional Takeaway for the North West, an award it also won back in 2019. The spot specialises in cuisine from baltis to biryanis, with dishes from everywhere from Gujarat to Bangladesh.

Elsewhere, the Milnrow Balti in Rochdale won Regional Restaurant of the Year for the North West. Over 2000 restaurants and takeaways were nominated for awards this year.

Speaking about the awards, Salik Mohammed Munim, Founder of the ARTA Awards, said: “The ARTA Awards 2022 are a celebration and recognition of Britain’s vibrant Asian restaurants, takeaways, and chefs.
