Manchester United centre-back Raphael Varane has spoken about teammate Cristiano Ronaldo's mentality as he offered a glimpse behind the scenes to life at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo and Varane played together earlier in their careers at Real Madrid before both arriving in Manchester last summer.

And the Frenchman has now opened up about the pair's relationship as he discussed five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo.

It comes as Bruno Fernandes has shown the desire the United players have to come out victorious in next week's Manchester derby.

And the club has scouted two up-and-coming players as they ponder whether to try and bring them in to the club during the summer's transfer window.

Manchester United have scouted PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo and Sporting Lisbon defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha.

Ralf Rangnick has ordered the club's scouting department to keep tabs on Gakpo, who has scored 13 goals and provided 13 assists for PSV in this campaign.

Meanwhile, Palhinha is being considered as an option to help solve the club's problems in midfield.
