Arteta on 'signing of the season'

Marcus Rashford could be handed a route back to the Manchester United first team in the summer transfer window.

The England forward is said to be considering his future at Old Trafford after falling out of favour under interim manager Ralf Rangnick and with his contract set to expire at the end of next season.

But United could turn to a former target to help coax the striker's best form out of him once again.

It comes as United's search for a new manager suffered a blow amid the ongoing turmoil at Premier League rivals Chelsea.

And Cristiano Ronaldo is still not training with the rest of the Man United squad ahead of Saturday's match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Cristiano Ronaldo did not train with his Manchester United teammates once again on Thursday after missing Sunday's derby through injury.

The Portuguese forward has suffered a recurrence of the hip flexor injury that ruled him out of games against Aston Villa earlier in the season.

It led to him missing Sunday's Manchester derby, although the player flew home to his native Portugal rather than travel with the rest of the United squad to the Etihad Stadium for the game.

He has since returned to United's Carrington training ground – but the chances of him featuring in the club's next match against Tottenham Hotspur seem slim.
