Man United stars drop early team news hint amid Casemiro question and Manuel Ugarte doubt

A number of Manchester United players have dropped team news hints ahead of Saturday's Premier League lunchtime match against Southampton.

Erik ten Hag's side will take on the newly-promoted side at St Mary's on the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Liverpool before the international break. Luis Diaz scored a brace in the first half and Mohamed Salah bagged the third goal at Old Trafford.

March last year was the last time United faced Southampton was at home and the sides had to settle for a goalless draw. That same season, Ten Hag's team came away 1-0 winners on the south coast.

Ahead of the match, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro and Diogo Dalot have posted pre-match graphic previews of the fixture to their Instagram stories. Historically, this suggests that they will be involved in some capacity – whether that's starting or simply named in the matchday squad.

With that said, Antony is yet to start a Premier League game this season after coming on as a late substitute in the 2-1 defeat at Brighton last month. Garnacho meanwhile, has only started one game against Liverpool, after coming on as a substitute against Fulham and Brighton.

Casemiro meanwhile, started in all three games but was taken off at half-time against Arne Slot's side. The Brazilian had a bad day at the office against the Reds with mistakes leading to two goals.

He will now be competing for a spot with £42million signing from Paris Saint-Germain Manuel Ugarte though it remains to be seen whether he will make his debut from the start.
