Man United receive major injury boost for West Ham game as defender returns to training

Jonny Evans has been spotted back in Manchester United training before Sunday afternoon's visit to West Ham - but Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount were not seen.

Evans, who has started the last two Premier League games, missed Thursday night's draw with Fenerbahce after picking up a knock, but re-joined group training at Leyton Orient's home ground, Gaughan Group Stadium, during final preparations on Saturday.

Earlier this month, United pinpointed that Mainoo and Mount would be side-lined for "a few weeks", and neither were spotted in Greater London. Harry Maguire was also not seen as he continues to nurse a muscle injury picked up against Aston Villa on October 6.

Antony was absent and faces a spell on the sidelines after being taken off on a stretcher just 16 minutes after his substitution into the game against Fenerbahce, having sustained a leg injury. United are yet to confirm the nature and length of his setback.

Long-term absentees Luke Shaw and Leny Yoro also missed the session on Saturday. United's stretched numbers has allowed Academy talents such as Habeeb Ogunneye, Jack Fletcher (son of Darren) and Harry Amass to join in first-team training ahead of West Ham. Ogunneye and Amass were on the substitutes bench in Turkey in midweek.

Ethan Wheatley, the 250th Academy graduate to make his senior debut, was also involved in training. The 18-year-old was seen receiving attacking advice from assistant coach Ruud van Nistelrooy.
