Man United reach agreement over three players as Manchester derby given new date

Premier League football returns this weekend after the international pause but a lack of club action hasn't stopped the Manchester United news cycle.

A decision on Erik ten Hag's future was expected to be communicated after club chiefs met at Old Trafford and Ineos' Knightsbridge offices last week, yet nothing came.

United have struck an agreement with Sir Jim Ratcliffe-owned FC Lausanne-Sport that will see three academy players train with the Swiss club this week.

Habeeb Ogunneye, Jack Kingdon and Ethan Williams flew to Switzerland on Monday morning and the three youngsters will get the opportunity to train with Lausanne's first team.

All three 18-year-olds are making strong progress in the academy and have been rewarded with the chance to gain experience with a senior squad thanks to United's agreement.

United's derby trip to the Etihad Stadium to face neighbours Manchester City in mid-December has been handed a new date following the announcement of the latest broadcast selections.

United were originally scheduled to make the short trip across the city on Saturday, December 14 for a 3pm kick-off, but will now face Pep Guardiola's side on Sunday, December 15. The contest, which will be screened live on Sky Sports, will kick-off at 4.30pm.
