Wayne Rooney fumes as Manchester United legend 'angry' despite three-goal comeback

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has voiced his frustrations after Plymouth Argyle needed a stunning comeback in the Championship.

Rooney took charge of Plymouth in the second-tier clash against Preston North End on Saturday, as they battled back from three goals down to earn a point in a 3-3 draw on home soil.

Argyle found themselves 3-0 down thanks to goals from Preston trio Sam Greenwood, Mads Frokjaer-Jensen and Brad Potts after the 48th minute. Rooney's team managed to earn a draw, though, thanks to second-half goals from Freddie Issaka, Andre Gray and Morgan Whittaker.

Despite earning an unlikely point after trailing by three goals, Rooney was far from happy after the full-time whistle at Home Park. The United legend, who has been Plymouth manager since May, explained what he didn't like from his team despite the impressive nature of battling back from a three-goal deficit.

"I'm angry, to be honest. That performance is nowhere near good enough," Rooney told the Plymouth Herald. "I was really disappointed for an hour of that game.

"It didn't look like us at all. We were easy to play against. We weren't putting tackles in, we weren't getting to the ball. I'm obviously pleased we get a point out of the game but I can't accept that performance.

"I'm frustrated. At 3-0, you are looking at it and you are concerned. I tried to get attacking players on and get more balls in the box. We didn't do that enough, which is something we have worked on and looked at over the last couple of days, and we didn't do that at
