Man United given Manuel Ugarte transfer 'green light' as three star players banished

Manchester United have been given a major boost to their hopes of signing Manuel Ugarte. The 23-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer as Erik ten Hag looks to strengthen his options in the middle of the park.

Ugarte, who sees his contract at Les Parc des Princes expire in June 2028, featured 25 times for Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 last season, providing three assists. Despite playing a key role in a title-winning domestic campaign, he struggled to force himself into Luis Enrique'sside in the Champions League.

Once the Parisians had qualified for the knockout stages, the Uruguay international was sidelined. Nevertheless, after just 12 months in the French capital, Ugarte faces an uncertain future – and the Red Devils have emerged as potential suitors.

So much so that, according to L’Equipe journalist Loïc Tanzi, the United target has been banished from training, along with Nordi Mukiele and Danilo. The report states that the three could leave PSG before the transfer window slams shut at the end of this month.

According to the Mirror earlier this month, the Red Devils believe the French giants' asking price is too high and they will only re-enter negotiations if their demands are lowered. The report claims that PSG are eager to recoup the £51.4million they paid Sporting CP for Ugarte last summer.
