Man United face £43m transfer worst-case scenario as Jadon Sancho outcome emerges

Reports from Sky Germany - via Florian Plettenberg on social media - claim that Bayer Leverkusen set Bundesliga giants Bayern a hard deadline in their chase for Jonathan Tah and it could havemajor repercussions in the De Ligt saga. United are effectively in a 'transfer triangle' with the two German sides.

It was proposed that a successful swoop for Tah would allow Bayern to sell the £43m-rated De Ligt to United. However, as per the above update and a follow up from journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft - who indicates that Bayern have said 'no' to Tah this summer - that scenario has been thrown up in the air as Bayern consider what to do next.

MEN Sport says: "At face value, this comes as a significant blow to United in their push to sign De Ligt, at least at anytime soon.
