Man City vs Tottenham live - team news and build-up ahead of Premier League clash

Manchester City will be hoping to pick up an important three points when Tottenham travel to the Etihad on Sunday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola's side, currently sitting in second place in the Premier League table - just four points behind title race rivals Arsenal, head into the game following an emphatic 3-2 Champions League comeback win over RB Leipzig midweek. Injury-ravaged Spurs are currently sixth in the table but lost their last outing against fourth-placed Aston Villa.

The City boss said during his pre-match press conference the game should be 'a lot of fun' between two attacking sides. But Guardiola has warned his players not to take the three points for granted just because they are at home and he knows his players are in for a tough game.

John Stones could finally return for City following a spell on the sidelines through injury, while Mateo Kovacic also returned to training this week after he picked up an issue in the Chelsea game before the November international break and both could feature.

Spurs will be without nine senior first-team players for the match, with Ange Postecoglou admitting it will be a 'challenge' facing Guardiola's side.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, City boss Pep Guardiola gave an update on John Stones' fitness and even hinted the England international could start against Tottenham. He said: "He's much better, close to coming back. He'll be with us, he'll be there."

Mateo Kovacic also returned to training this week, leaving Matheus Nunes and Kevin De Bruyne as the only sidelined City players.
