Man City told to consider signing Arsenal player in summer transfer window

Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole believes Manchester City should consider turning to Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney if they plan to recruit a new left-back this forthcoming summer.

Nathan Ake, despite spending much of his career as a centre-back, has established himself as City's first-choice left-back this season, particularly because of Joao Cancelo's surprise January switch to Bayern Munich. Sergio Gomez is considered as the club's alternative option in that position, but many supporters believe they do need to bolster that area in the summer.

The Blues, according to reports elsewhere, have expressed interest in Chelsea and England ace Ben Chilwell, but it remains to be seen if anything will come of that ongoing speculation. Should it not, former Reds ace Cole believes Arsenal ace Tierney would be an alternative option for Pep Guardiola to run the rule over.

Cole, speaking to King Casino Bonus, said: "I like Kieran Tierney, he's had a few problems with injuries but he is talented. If Arsenal are prepared to sell him, he would not be struggling for options.

"If Manchester City are in for him, I could see that working, but he'd be competing with Ben Chilwell who is linked to City too. Tierney will want to play, and if he doesn't continue to get any game time, he'll be looking to go somewhere else in the summer."

Tierney has found opportunities hard to come by at the Emirates Stadium this season, with the vast majority of his appearances coming from the substitutes bench.
