Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva start in Man City predicted line-up vs Bayern Munich

Manchester City will be looking to progress to the Champions League semi-finals when they face Bayern Munich in the second leg of their quarter-final clash on Wednesday night.

Pep Guardiola's side secured a 3-0 victory over the Bundesliga outfit in the first leg at the Etihad last week. Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland were all on target for the Blues as they took a commanding lead in the tie.

City, who defeated Leicester 3-1 at the weekend, have been boosted by the return to training of Phil Foden. He withdrew from Three Lions duty at the end of March with appendicitis and has not played since as he recovers from the surgery and the injury. Guardiola admitted it was unlikely that he could play the full 90 minutes, but insisted he was excited to have him back involved.

Unless anything drastic happens before kick-off, Ederson will start against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night. While City do already have one foot in the semi-finals, Guardiola is unlikely to take too many risks - and benching the Brazilian shot-stopper would certainly be a bold call. The 29-year-old will be desperate for another clean sheet.

City have been operating with a hybrid formation in recent weeks, which sees John Stones operate as a holding midfielder when the Blues have the ball. However, the England ace does start as a right-back, and he will almost certainly play against the German side in midweek. Manuel Akanji, Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake were all excellent in the first leg victory, so it would come as a surprise if Guardiola made a change to his defence.
