Man City starlet reveals Celtic dream’s about to come true in America

Manchester City starlet Callum Doyle revealed he will fulfil a childhood dream if he plays against Celtic in their glamour pre-season friendly in America.

The Scottish Premiership and English Premier League champions are set to go head to head in Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill. It will be the second Stateside fixture for the Hoops after kicking off with a 4-0 win over DC United. But they face a huge step up in quality when they take on Pep Guardiola’s superstars with a clash against Chelsea to come on Saturday.

And one player in the City ranks can’t wait to take on the Celtic. Doyle spent last season on loan at Brendan Rodgers’ former club Leicester City and is looking to make an impact at the Etihad this season after other loan spells at Sunderland and Coventry City.

Man City will also face Barcelona, AC Milan and Chelsea as part of a USA tour and asked which game he was most looking forward to, Doyle told the City website : “Probably Celtic. I’ve always dreamed since I was a little kid to play against Celtic. Since I was watching the derbies between Celtic and Rangers I feel like it’ll be a good game, a good test and a good battle.”

City boss Guardiola is looking forward to a stiff test against Celtic and said: “We get to play against of course, Celtic, in Scotland a top team. After it’s Milan, come on, Barcelona and Chelsea. These guys playing against these teams, it’s a good experience to see how they can compete. It’s massively important for all of us, for them."
