Man City star Jack Grealish accused of 'disrespecting' Fluminense during Club World Cup triumph

Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has been accused of being disrespectful of Fluminense by shouting 'ole' during their FIFA Club World Cup triumph.

City were comfortable victors in Saudi Arabia thanks to a dominant display from the first whistle. Julian Alvarez had the Blues in front within the opening minute before a Nino own goal doubled the advantage.

Phil Foden slid home at the back post to make it three before Alvarez wrapped up the scoring with two minutes remaining. Despite the gap in the scoreline, tempers threatened to boil over during the game with some hard tackles flying in, one of which could have injured Rodri.

After the final whistle, Kyle Walker and Felipe Melo were involved in a scuffle as the players were shaking hands. At the time, it was unclear why this incident had occurred but according to the Fluminense man, Grealish's actions were at the centre of the argument with the full-back.

Speaking to Brazilian TV, Melo explained: "Today Grealish was disrespectful towards the Fluminense team and I'll never let that happen...

"He was shouting 'ole' during the game. This is for the fans, they can shout 'ole'. The athlete on the field cannot be disrespectful."

However, Grealish took to social media late on Friday night to deny Melo's accusation, saying: "Not once did I say 'ole'".

The 'ole' chant originated in the stands and is often shouted by supporters when their team has plenty of possession. During the match in Jeddah, City enjoyed just 55 per cent of the ball but dominated in terms of quality chances created over the course of the 90 minutes.
