Man City pre-season tour ratings as Bobb takes centre-stage and new first team option emerges
Manchester City are back in England and can finally start to plan for the new season with the majority of players who will be defending their Premier League title.
Pep Guardiola bemoaned the fact that he had '80 per cent' of his first team squad missing, insisting that the players who were in the Euros need to rest ahead of a gruelling 12 month campaign. The result was a youthful tour squad, supplemented by Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol.
Rico Lewis and Oscar Bobb stepped up to be senior squad members this summer, while Guardiola was keen to see which youngsters would force their way into his plans. Step forward James McAtee and Nico O'Reilly.

Ederson
With uncertainties over his future lingering over the camp, Ederson was on the bench for the first friendly before starting the next two. He was unconvincing for at least two of AC Milan's goal and possibly Barcelona's first. You feel his big decision on his future has been impacting his performances. 5
Stefan Ortega
Helpless for the Celtic goals, and when recalled vs Chelsea he produced some big saves. There was one moment where he gifted possession to Enzo Fernandez, but got away with it and will fancy his chances of starting the Community Shield. 6
Rico Lewis
Lewis started the tour by declaring his ambition to play in midfield - but Guardiola had to apologise for using the youngster
