Man City pair Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne nominated for Premier League Player of the Month award

Manchester City pair Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne are both on the eight-player shortlist for April's EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month.

City enjoyed a perfect month of league action, winning all five of their games and scoring an impressive 17 goals in the process. A 4-1 win at home to Arsenal put Pep Guardiola's side exclusively in the driving seat for this year's title, while victory at Fulham four days later sent them top for the first time since February 17.

Pivotal to a successful month have been Haaland and De Bruyne, the pair continuing their burgeoning relationship while also excelling individually.

Haaland carried through his unstoppable form to net six goals in his four league games during April, with braces against Southampton and Leicester City the highlights. The Norwegian also added two assists to his tally in the win over Arsenal, twice laying De Bruyne on to score.

The Belgian looks to have hit peak form at the perfect time for City's season-defining period, with those two strikes against Mikel Arteta's men adding to the goal against Liverpool on the first day of the month. Along with that, the 31-year-old has four assists in the four league games he has featured in.

The Blues duo are joined on the shortlist by Newcastle pair Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson, who have notched an incredible 12 goals and two assists between them.

Crystal Palace have also enjoyed a brilliant month under Roy Hodgson, with Eberechi Eze's four strikes earning him a nomination alongside Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins, who has scored five times for Unai Emery's side.
