Man City pair Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne nominated for Premier League Player of the Season

Manchester City's top goalscorer Erling Haaland has been nominated for two Premier League Player of the Year awards, while Kevin De Bruyne and Pep Guardiola are up for end-of-year accolades after their brilliant seasons.

City can seal their third consecutive Premier League title this weekend if they beat Chelsea - or failing that if they match Arsenal's result at Nottingham Forest or Arsenal lose that game on Saturday evening. Central to City's title charge has been Haaland's record 36 league goals, setting the record for most Premier League strikes in a single campaign.

De Bruyne has 18 assists and can equal his own joint-record held with Thierry Henry, with three games left to break the record outright.

Both Haaland and De Bruyne are up for Player of the Year, on a seven-man shortlist that also includes Harry Kane of Tottenham, Arsenal pair Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka, Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford and Newcastle captain Kieran Trippier.

Haaland could pick up a double win if he is named Young Player of the Year, where he is again up against Odegaard and Saka. Gabriel Martinelli makes it three Arsenal nominations, while Brighton have two nods through Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister. Newcastle also have two representatives as Sven Botman and Alexander Isak are recognised for their impressive seasons.

Guardiola is nominated for Manager of the Season, facing competition from former assistant Mikel Arteta, Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, Newcastle's Eddie Howe, and Marco Silva of Fulham.
