Man City given exciting glimpse into future amid transfer progress

Seventeen-year-old Endrick came off the bench during Brazil's win over England at Wembley to steal the headlines, but it was another exciting teenager who may be of more interest to Manchester City.

With 13 minutes left, Girona's on-loan winger Savio was introduced at Wembley and made an instant impact on his international debut. Boxed in on the right wing, Savio managed to flick the ball into the centre, and although it fell to an England shirt, the rebound was picked up by Andreas Pereira who played in Vinicius Jr to shoot - with Endrick bundling in after Jordan Pickford saved.

As England pushed for an equaliser, Savio almost set up a second for his country, skipping clear past Kobbie Mainoo out of his own box and driving forwards in the dying seconds. He raced into the England half on a three-on-one break, played in Pereira to his right before Endrick was denied by Pickford.

In total, Savio completed 11 passes - the most of any substitute, with an accuracy of 81 per cent. He will hope to face Spain in Madrid on Tuesday after his bright cameo at Wembley.

The winger has been a bright spark at Girona this season, on loan from fellow City Football Group sister club Troyes. He was a record signing for the French outfit, joining two years ago for £5m, potentially rising to £10m. However he has spent both seasons out on loan - first at PSV Eindhoven where he played eight times, and now at Girona where he has helped the underdogs to third spot in La Liga.
