Man City duo 'wanted by Saudi Pro League side' and other transfer rumours

Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli are eyeing moves for Manchester City duo Aymeric Laporte and Riyad Mahrez, according to reports.

90min report that there is interest from the Middle East in both players, who lost their places in Pep Guardiola's starting XI last season. Mahrez saw game time limited, with the Algerian playing no part in either the FA Cup or Champions League final, while Laporte turned out just 12 times in the Premier League.

The Spanish defender has been linked with Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur so far this summer. The speculation regarding Saudi Arabia comes as no surprise, with several big-name stars being snapped up. City are claimed to be 'ready to sell' Laporte, while Mahrez is said to have had contact with Al Ahli at the end of June. A £45million-per-year salary could be on the table, according to the report.

Meanwhile, Football Insider claims a number of clubs are eyeing academy hopeful Jadel Katongo. The 18-year-old centre half is reportedly the subject of interest from several EFL outfits with clubs from France and Germany also tracking the teenager.

City are thought to be willing to allow Katongo - who played 30 Under-18 Premier League games last season - to leave on loan this summer with the hope he follows in the footsteps of breakthrough youngster Taylor Harwood-Bellis.

Katongo is nifty at both ends of pitch, scoring five times last season as City won the U18 Premier League and Premier League 2 titles. The clubs interested in Katongo have not been named but all are thought to be open to a loan deal rather than permanent transfer.
