Man City confirmed players under contract as three stars could leave for free in 2023

As attentions turn to who Manchester City might try and sign in the summer transfer window, it's also worth considering which current players could soon by out of contract, and how likely they are to sign new deals or leave.

Fernandinho and Scott Carson were the only two first team players whose deals expire on June 30 this year; the former will leave the Blues after nine years at the club while the latter is expected to sign a new one year deal.

There are a handful of stars who have just over one year left on their current contracts, and with none having signed new deals yet their futures remain uncertain.

Here's a break-down of the contract situations of every player in Pep Guardiola's squad.

Expires in 2023

Ilkay Gundogan was the final day hero as City clinched a fourth Premier League title in five years, but the 31-year-old has just a year left on his contract.

After recent - inaccurate - reports that Gundogan was flying abroad to conduct negotiations with other teams, Guardiola publicly stated his desire for the German midfielder to stay. Gundogan is happy in Manchester, but would like to play more than he did this season.

Gabriel Jesus looks set to leave this summer, as he looks to be come a first-choice striker at a Premier League side. While City would like to keep him around, that is a role Guardiola cannot offer him, especially with the arrival of Erling Haaland. Talks have taken place between Jesus' representatives and Arsenal, while Tottenham and Juventus are also interested.
