Arnaut Danjuma could be ideal Manchester United transfer with slight position change

The Dutch Revolution is underway at Manchester United. Erik ten Hag has already been appointed as the club's new manager and players like Jurrien Timber and Frenkie de Jong are now on the club's radar for this summer's transfer window.

Another player that United are reportedly considering is Arnaut Danjuma. The Manchester Evening News understands that the Dutch winger is on the club's shortlist right now, but he has also been considered by the club in past as an alternative to Jadon Sancho, although there were doubts about whether he would be able to replicate his Championship form.

However, while playing for Villarreal this season Danjuma has taken off. United fans will specifically remember his visit to Old Trafford where he was a menace against Diogo Dalot on the left wing and got the assist for Paco Alcacer's opener.

But United don't need a left-winger. Marcus Rashford was most effective when played on the left under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and this season Jadon Sancho has thrived playing down the left too, so with a limited budget Ten Hag needs to be wary of overloading one wing when the other side may also need reinforcements.

However, Villarreal may have already offered a solution and shown why Danjuma would be a shrewd signing for United. Though earlier on in the season the Dutchman mainly played on the left-wing, due to an injury to striker Gerard Moreno and then a tactical shift by manager Unai Emery, he spent a lot of time playing as a striker this season.

The major concern would come from how he would play as a striker in a possession-based side, rather than the counter-attacking, low-block system that Villarreal
