Man arrested near college after being seen with 'hammer'
Police were called to a college yesterday (February 14) morning after reports of a man possessing a hammer. Officers were called to Wellington Street outside Bolton College where a man was arrested.
Greater Manchester Police were called just before midday where a man in his 50s was seen with a hammer. The man was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.
They were later released with a caution.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "We were called just before midday to reports of a man with a hammer. A man in his 50s was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and given a caution."
Bolton College were approached for a comment.
