Eamonn Holmes has shared the 'most awful thing' about his recent health woes after being showered with support over his fresh observation. Over the weekend, the GB News star was seen being punished in a wheelchair by his doting son as he attended Manchester United's Carabao Cup tie with Newcastle United.

Eamonn didn't have the easiest end to 2022 after he suffered a horror fall during recovery from a back operation. The 63-year-old underwent surgery after years of battling chronic pain as a result of slipped discs. But shortly after the operation, he suffered a fall and the accident left him with a fractured shoulder and out of work for four months.

The former This Morning star was then hit by further heartbreak when his beloved mum, Josie, died in November and he was unable to attend her funeral.

Speaking to Loose Women star Kaye Adams on her How To Be 60 podcast, Eamonn opened up about his health issues saying: "You're inhibited playing with the dog, you're inhibited playing with your grandchild, you're inhibited just socialising. But also, the most awful thing is just being dependent on other people and what that does to you."

He went on to say: "Being dependent on someone to get you a cup of tea, to get something from the fridge, to pass you the TV remote controls, to bring you to the bathroom sometimes…. There are so many things where it’s demoralising having to ask.

"And there’s only so many times you can say, ‘Karen, could you get me this’, ‘Kay you couldn’t hand me that could you?’ And you are dependent. And if Kay decides ‘I’m fed up of handing you things, get it yourself’ or whatever, it’s very
