The main road into Pontypool has been closed in both directions due to a late night crash. The incident was confirmed just before 1.20am on Tuesday morning.

Snatchwood Road in the suburb of Pontnewynydd has been closed both ways while emergency services work to clear the scene.

Posting to Twitter at 1.18am on Tuesday morning, Gwent Police said: "Please be aware that as a result of an RTC Snatchwood Road, Pontnewynydd, Pontypool is closed whilst emergency services deal with the incident. Please avoid the area."
