Maik Nawrocki to Celtic transfer rise mapped out by talent spotter as next step after Parkhead deal predicted

The Polish FA's chief scout has tipped incoming Celtic signing Maik Nawrocki to make his mark on the international level.

The centre back is in Glasgow after undergoing a medical and will put pen to paper on a five-year deal after Celtic agreed a £4.3million fee with Legia Warsaw for the 22-year-old. He could be unveiled on Monday as part of a triple signing swoop for Brendan Rodgers, with Korean duo Yang Hyeon-jun and Kwon Hyeok-kyu also in town to complete their respective switches.

Maciej Chorazyk is the Polish association' chief talent spotter. He's been aware of Nawrocki since he was just a teenager. despite being born in Germany, the defender has played for the Poles at every age group so far and has committed to his national team, who have been keeping a close eye on him for years just to make sure they didn't miss out on him in the future.

And Chorazyk has tipped him to become a star for his country. he told the Sunday Post: "I believe Maik Nawrocki will go on to play for the national team for many years. He’s a player who has been in our system since he was 14 years old. We have been in constant contact with him and he’s played for Poland at all levels.

“He was even named in the original squad for the World Cup, although he didn’t make the final cut. I am certain he will go on to become an important player for Poland.

“He is a very good example of why it is important to get these players as young as possible. He is completely into playing for Poland and not Germany now.”
