Maidstone United sign striker Ken Charles from Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints
Maidstone United have signed a striker who won the Welsh Premier League and played in Europe last season.
Ken Charles becomes manager Craig Fagan’s second summer recruit after a title-winning campaign with The New Saints.
The 25-year-old also gained European experience with TNS in the Conference League qualifying rounds after moving to Wales from St Albans.
Charles knows Maidstone well, having played for their under-18s before earning a move to the pro game with Colchester United under-23s.
Stones boss Fagan said: “Ken is someone who understands this football club.
“He’s developed a lot since leaving the Kent Youth League set-up here and has gone away to gain experience at a very good level.
“We’re delighted to bring him back to the club.”
Charles, who’s also had spells with Banbury, Cheshunt and King’s Lynn, said: “It feels great to come back to where it kind of all began for me.
“I’ve always kept an eye on the club and to return now as a first-team player is a proud moment. I’m hungry to work hard, help the team and give the fans plenty to be excited about.”
