National League South side Maidstone United sign young midfielder Alfie Tuck and versatile attacker Jayden Davis; Midfielder TJ Bramble is to depart
Maidstone boss Craig Fagan has completed two signings in one day as his new-look National League South squad continues to take shape.
Midfielder Alfie Tuck, 20, arrives at the Gallagher Stadium after loan spells with Hampton & Richmond Borough and Farnborough while on loan from Queens Park Rangers, with versatile attacker Jayden Davis also on board.
Davis, 24, arrives after a two-year stay at Eastbourne Borough and also has spent time at Crawley, King’s Lynn, Lewes, Farnborough and Braintree since he started out in Millwall's academy.
“Jayden has excellent athletic qualities, real attacking intent and a hunger to keep improving,” Fagan told the Stones club website.
“He brings energy and versatility to the squad and we’re excited to see what he can achieve in a Maidstone shirt.
“We believe he has all the attributes to make a real impact.”
Meanwhile, Tuck, who had been with QPR since he was nine, earned a first professional contract two years ago and has played internationally for Wales’ under-19s.
He has now found a new home, having been released by the Championship club last month.
He said: “I’m really excited to be joining Maidstone United.
“It’s a club with ambition, a fantastic fan-base and a clear direction. I’ve learned a lot from my loan spells over the last year and I feel ready for this next challenge.
“I can’t wait to get started and help the team achieve its goals this season.”
Fagan added: “Alfie is a player we’ve been monitoring closely for a while.
“He’s come through an excellent academy system at QPR, has international experience with Wales and has already tasted senior football at this level.
“We believe Maidstone is the perfect environment for him to take the next step in his career.”
