Maidstone United manager George Elokobi delighted to keep assistant boss Craig Fagan alongside him for the 2025/26 National League South season
There was never any doubt that Craig Fagan would be staying at Maidstone United this summer.
The Stones announced earlier this month that assistant boss Fagan had signed a new deal at the Gallagher Stadium.
The former Hull and Derby forward has been a key part of George Elokobi’s management team over the past two seasons.
Elokobi and Fagan go back years, having first met as team-mates at Colchester in the early 2000s.
They’ve remained good friends and form quite the partnership.
Under their watch, Maidstone have enjoyed a history-making run to the FA Cup fifth round and twice made the National League South play-offs, including a place in last season’s final.
Speaking of Fagan’s new contract, Stones boss Elokobi said: “There wasn’t any doubt.
“We’ve worked exceptionally well together, he wanted to extend his stay and we’ve got that done.
“We had to announce it at the right time.
“He’s a wealth of knowledge, we’ve built a fantastic team here over the last two seasons, we enjoy working with one another and the players are benefiting from working with us.
“I’m delighted with Craig signing for another season with myself.
“You spend a lot of time together. It’s not just the football stuff.
“There’s family and we have our social time as well but it’s important that when we work, we try and make this environment as good, as friendly and as enjoyable as possible.
“That’s what we do, so we do have a fantastic relationship.”
