Maidstone United loanee Taylor Foran set to miss two weeks with hamstring injury, while TJ Bramble also doubtful for Chippenham

Maidstone United manager George Elokobi expects to be without key defender Taylor Foran for a couple of weeks.

Foran suffered a hamstring injury in the opening minutes of United’s 2-1 derby defeat by Tonbridge last Saturday and was replaced by Lexus Beeden.

The on-loan Bromley man was missing on Tuesday as Maidstone lost 1-0 at Ebbsfleet and he has no chance of featuring at home to Chippenham this weekend.

Foran’s arrival coincided with Maidstone’s upturn in form and they’ve conceded only one goal in the time he’s been on the pitch.

He’s an important player but United must manage without him.

“It’s a hamstring injury,” said Elokobi.

“I think it’s in between grade one and grade two and from my experience as a player and now as a manager, it does take a couple of weeks.

“So the medical team is working on it, he’s gone for a scan and we need to make sure we get the result back and then we’ll go from there.

“He’s been effective but it’s an opportunity for the other players to step in and make sure they stake their claim.

“I focus on the players who are fit, to be honest, but we’re looking after Taylor.

“When he’s back, he’ll be back but the players that haven’t had a lot of game time, it’s an opportunity for them to show us what they can do.”

Midfielder TJ Bramble also appears to be struggling to be fit for Chichester on Saturday.

He could barely move at the end of the Ebbsfleet game after taking a whack on the knee but carried on as Maidstone had made all their substitutions.

“He’s in pain,” said Elokobi.

“He’s got some serious bruising on his knee.

“I don’t like talking about officials but sometimes you want to take the player into their office and show them the impact, because my players don’t dive.
