Tom Leahy believes Maidstone United have some of the best attacking options in National League South.

Leahy, 22, returned to the Gallagher Stadium this summer after an impressive spell at Tonbridge Angels.

It’s familiar territory for the striker, who previously played for United on loan from Millwall at the end of the 24/25 season.

The Stones scored 27 goals in seven pre-season friendlies as new boss Craig Fagan laid out his plans for attacking football.

Ken Charles scored in six successive matches and Leahy netted five goals, including a first-half hat-trick against Brentwood, while teenager Mark Boruk showed his potential when breaking into the side at the end of last season.

There’s quality and creativity out wide, too, in Leone Gravata, Nana Boateng and Jayden Davis, with Fagan committed to entertaining Stones supporters.

It bodes well for the new National League South campaign which starts at home to Farnborough on Saturday (3pm).

“I believe we’ll be up in the top end of the table,” said Leahy.

“We’ve got a really good attack. I’ve said to the boys I think we’ve got one of the best attacks in the league.

“All pre-season we’ve scored goals and I believe we can carry that on into the season.

“For me, I’m thinking a good season is 20/25 goals, depending on where I’m playing.

“If I’m playing through the middle, I think I can do that.

“If I’m playing out wide, then maybe 25 goal contributions - goals and assists. But my first thought is with the team and finishing as high as we can.”

Leahy started last season at Welling after leaving Millwall, before signing for Tonbridge in November.
