Maguire and Meadow lose further ground in Florida

Nelly Korda remains in pole position to seal her first Tour win since November 2022 after a third round 68 at the LPGA Drive on Championship in Florida, where Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow failed to climb the leaderboard.

FULL LEADERBOARD

The Irish pair snuck inside the cut-line on Friday and neither was able to make any real progress in round three.

Maguire shot her second 73 of the week with her round falling away on the back nine to leave her on two-over par overall.

Having opened with seven straight pars, the Cavan golfer birdied the par-five eighth to be out in 35, but Maguire, who only hit eight fairways out of 14, accumulated bogeys at the 11th, 13th and 18th holes to sit outside the top 50.

Meadow is one shot better off after her second consecutive 72.

It was an eventful round for the Antrim player with five birdies being made redundant by six bogeys.

Korda entered the day with a two-stroke lead before recording three birdies, an eagle and two bogeys at Bradenton Country Club to move to 13-under par.

She now holds a four-shot edge over Megan Khang, Japan's AyakaFurue and Lydia Ko of New Zealand, who are all tied for second at 9-under par.

It was rough in the early going for Korda, who posted back-to-back bogeys at the par-3 seventh and the par-5 eighth.

The 25-year-old is 18 holes away from her first victory on the LPGA Tour since November of 2022, when she won the Pelican Women's Championship.
