M61 traffic LIVE updates as two lanes closed following fire

Drivers are facing delays on the M61 following a fire near Bolton.

Two lanes of traffic have been closed off on the southbound carriageway between junction eight at Chorley and six at Horwich this morning (October 16).

There are queues in the affected area, close to Rivington Services.

A post from the Inrix traffic monitoring service said: "Two lanes closed and slow traffic due to vehicle fire on M61 Southbound from J8 A674 Millennium Way (Chorley) to J6 A6027 De Havilland Way (Horwich)."
