M62 traffic LIVE: Two lanes closed after car flips in crash - updates
Two lanes have been closed on a major motorway this morning following a crash.
Travel services report that two lanes are shut on the M62 westbound carriageway, at junction 11 for Birchwood, following a collision.
It has been reported that a car flipped in the crash, which happened in the early hours. It is not known whether anyone was hurt in the incident.
Traffic was stopped at the scene for around 15 minutes at 6am, according to Inrix.
National Highways have said: "#M62 westbound within J11 (#Warrington #Birchwood) #Cheshire LANES CLOSED 2 lanes (of 4) closed following an earlier collision resulting in an overturned car.
" Police investigation underway. 1.5 miles of congestion approaching scene."
The lanes are expected to be shut for several hours.
Travel service Inrix have said: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M62 Westbound from J12 M60 J12 (Eccles Interchange) to J11 A574 Birchwood Way (Birchwood).
"Lanes one and two remains closed after being held for around 15 minutes."
