M60 traffic stopped by police after crash

Traffic was stopped on the M60 anticlockwise following a crash. Officers were at the scene between junctions 15 and 14, in Salford.

North West Motorway Police said two lanes had been closed in the area. Traffic was briefly stopped near to the Kearsley Spur.

A spokesperson for North West Motorway Police posted on X (formerly Twitter): "We are currently dealing with an RTC on M60 anticlockwise between j15 and j14, lanes 1 and 2 have been closed, we are now bringing traffic to a stop underneath the Kearsley Spur."

The incident led to delays approaching the scene from Simister Island, and on the M61 southbound. North West Motorway Police said the crash involved a car and a lorry.

All lanes reopened once the two vehicles were moved to the hard shoulder. The road had cleared by 2pm.
