LIVE: Two lanes closed on motorway after crash with delays of 90 MINUTES - updates

Long queues are building on a motorway after two lanes were closed following a crash on Saturday afternoon.

Drivers on the M62 Westbound from J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield) to J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor) are facing delays of up to 50 minutes, according to National Highways. It is thought the crash took place at around 2:30pm on Saturday (March 2).

Two lanes remain closed as emergency services work to make the area safe. It is unclear whether anyone was injured in the incident.

Traffic is also slow on the opposite side of the motorway. National Highways said normal traffic conditions are expected between 16:30 and 16:45.

There are delays of at least 60 minutes, and in parts 90 minutes, on the M62 this afternoon following a crash.

There are now delays of 50 minutes against expected traffic, down from 90 minutes, according to National Highways.

Police were called to the M62 westbound near junction 22 at 1.54pm today to a report a car had collided with the central reservation.

No injuries were reported and work has been ongoing to recover the vehicle involved.

There are two lanes closed in BOTH directions on the M62 - initially it was reported only the westbound lanes were closed.

Long queues are building in both directions.
