M60 traffic LIVE with long delays after lanes stopped due to 'obstruction'
All lanes have been stopped on the M60 due to an 'obstruction' on the motorway this afternoon.
Severe delays are being reported on the M60 clockwise from the A666 in Pendlebury to the M61 near the Swinton Interchange.
The congestion has also caused traffic to stand still anti-clockwise just after the Whitefield junction on the M60. According to reports, traffic was held at around 1:40pm.
Delays of up to 33 minutes are expected for anyone travelling on the route.
Traffic monitoring tool Inrix says: "Long delays due to earlier obstruction on the road on M60 clockwise from J16 A666 Manchester Road (Pendlebury) to J15 M61 J1 (Swinton Interchange)."
Traffic is beginning to ease on the M60 this afternoon with delays of up to three minutes being reported.
This live road map from the AA shows the problem spot which is at a bend that leads onto the M61.
According to Inrix, all lanes have been opened but long delays are still being reported on the motorway.
