M62 'severe delays' LIVE updates as lanes shut after vehicles stopped on motorway

Drivers are facing queues on the M62 with two lanes of traffic closed near Rochdale and Oldham.

Vehicles were briefly stopped on the M62 westbound between junctions 22 at Saddleworth and 21 at Milnrow following an incident this afternoon (June 17).

Traffic is moving again following the crash, but two lanes of traffic remain closed.

The incident was initially reported as a collision by the Inrix traffic monitoring system.

It says emergency repairs are now ongoing.

An update from the Inrix said: "Queueing traffic and two lanes closed due to emergency repairs on M62 Westbound from J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor) to J21 A6193 Sir Isaac Newton Way (Milnrow).

"Lanes one and two (of three)."
