M60 LIVE: Motorway shut both ways after 'serious' crash with severe traffic delays - updates

All traffic is being held on the M60 this evening following a collision, with emergency services currently in attendance.

Motorists are being held in a closure on the clockwise carriageway from J15 for the M61 and Swinton Interchange, to J16 for the A666 Manchester Road, following a crash between a car and a bike at about 6.30pm.

In an update at 7pm, travel services said both carriageways were now blocked with 'severe' delays.

Traffic cameras show significant delays and congestion building this evening while National Highways Officers and police respond to the incident.

National Highways said the motorway is closed due to a 'serious' collision between a car and a bike this evening.
