Live M60 and M62 traffic updates as crashes cause severe delays - latest

There are severe traffic delays on the M62 and M60 in Greater Manchester this afternoon (Friday, October 24).

Lanes are shut on the M62 westbound near Eccles Interchange. Lanes were also closed on the M60 due to two separate crashes, with long delays continuing.

Inrix, the traffic data company, said: "Queueing traffic and two lanes closed due to accident, three cars involved on M62 Westbound after J12 M60 J12 (Eccles Interchange).

"Lanes three and four (of four). Traffic has now been released after being temporarily held."

Elsewhere, the A56 Manchester Road Southbound was also closed due following a crash between Manchester Road and Bass Lane. Traffic is coping well.

All lanes have now reopened on the M62 as well.

Inrix, the traffic data company, said:

Long delays due to earlier accident on M62 Westbound after J12 M60 J12 (Eccles Interchange). Congestion to back along M602 to J2 (Trafford Park / Eccles).

All lanes are now open to traffic."

All traffic has now been released following both crashes on the M60. Lanes have reopened both near Denton Island and at Kingsway. Long delays continue.

All traffic isbeing temporarily held due to the crash on the M60 anticlockwise at J3 A34 Kingsway.

We're getting reports of another crash on the M60. Inrix, the traffic data company, said:

One lane closed and slow traffic due to accident on M60 anticlockwise at J3 A34 Kingsway.
