M6 crash LIVE as drivers stuck in huge traffic delays with lanes shut - updates
Three lanes of the M6 are closed following a collision with heavy traffic building near to the Thelwall Viaduct.
Queues are forming between Junction 21A (Croft Interchange) and Junction 21 (Woolston).
Inrix, a traffic monitoring site, posted this update on their website earlier this afternoon, May 1: "Three lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M6 Thelwall Viaduct Southbound from J21A M62 J10 (Croft Interchange) to J21 A57 Manchester Road (Woolston).
"Lanes two, three and four (of four) are closed, traffic delayed northbound as traffic slows to look."

#Cheshire LANES CLOSED 4 lanes closed, traffic using hard shoulder due to a collision.
@CheshireRCU, @NWAmbulance on scene. 45 min delay, 5 miles of congestion (note traffic slow past scene northbound also)."
