M56 crash LIVE as all traffic stopped near Manchester Airport - latest updates
All traffic has been stopped on the M56 this evening near to Manchester Airport following a collision. Congestion is continuing to build on the eastbound carriageway following the incident.
Traffic is being temporarily held in a closure between J3A for Princess Parkway and J4 for Wythenshawe.
Motorway cameras show long queues building due to the incident, with emergency services and highways officers currently in attendance.

The traffic is now easing following the earlier crash on the M56 Eastbound from J3A A5103 Princess Parkway (Baguley) to J4 Simonsway (Wythenshawe).
The vehicles involved have been moved to the hard shoulder.
