M6 LIVE as all traffic stopped and queues building after accident on major motorway
All traffic has been stopped on the M6 this morning following an accident.
Queues are building on the M6 northbound from J19 A556 (Knutsford) to J20 M56 J9 (Lymm Interchange) as emergency services race to the scene.
National Highways are warning of delays of at least 30 minutes as traffic remains stationary on the carriageway. It is not yet clear whether anyone was injured in the collision.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At 8.02am this morning police were called to a two-vehicle collision on the M6 northbound between 19 and 20.
"The collision involved two vans and blocked the carriageway.
"It is believed there were minor injuries. Both vans were recovered from the scene."
There are now delays of 20 minutes against expected traffic, according to National Highways.
The accident has now been moved to the hard shoulder.
All lanes have now been reopened on the M6. Long delays remain.
This incident is now clear, and all lanes have re-opened on the #M6 northbound in #Cheshire between J19 (#Knutsford) and J20 (#M56).
A 45 minute delay with 5 and a half miles of congestion remains in the area but should now start to ease.
