M4 was shut completely following incident near Bridgend
A section of the M4 was completely shut at around 9pm this evening due to a police incident. Both the eastbound and westbound carriageways were closed between Junction 35 Pencoed and Junction 36 Sarn, according to South Wales Police, and officers urged drivers to avoid the area.
A statement from South Wales Police said: "We're at the scene of an incident on the M4 Junction 35 Pencoed to Junction 36 Sarn. The road is currently closed in both directions Westbound and Eastbound.
"It is expected to remain closed for some time; please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. We're grateful for your patience."
In a later update the force said both carriageways were now open.
