Luis Suarez to Aston Villa as Steven Gerrard 'exploring the possibility' of transfer

The summer transfer window is almost upon us, which means that players continue to be linked with a move to Aston Villa.

Luis Suarez is a name that keeps being mentioned as Steven Gerrard looks to build a squad capable of challenging higher in the Premier League table next season. Villa have already made moves ahead of the summer window officially opening.

Boubacar Kamara and Diego Carlos are set to arrive at Villa Park in time for the new season with the former arriving on a free transfer. The latter is expected to cost Villa a fee of around £26 million.

Villa have also confirmed the permanent capture of Gerrard's former Liverpool teammate Philippe Coutinho on a permanent deal after the forward arrived on loan from Barcelona in January. It's now another former teammate in Suarez who is said to be next on Gerrard's list.

The former Liverpool and Barcelona striker looks to be on his way out of Atleti at the end of this season when his contract in the Spanish capital expires.

According to journalist Gerard Romero, who is based in Barcelona, Suarez has turned down multiple offers from Brazil and one from Saudi Arabia 'to focus on the proposal from Villa from his former teammate Gerrard'.
