Aston Villa 'would love' to bring 'complete' £42m star to Villa Park

Aston Villa would love to sign Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco, believes journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Belgian has been linked with a move to Villa Park, and O’Rourke thinks he is ideal for the Premier League.

According to reports in Spain, Villa, Tottenham and Newcastle United are all interested in signing Carrasco, who the CIES Football Observatory value at £42m.

He was an important member of Diego Simeone’s squad in the season that has just gone, making 44 appearances in all competitions.

34 of those came in La Liga, where the 28-year-old scored six goals and provided six assists to help Atletico finish third.

He is enjoying his second spell at the club after rejoining from Chinese side Dalian Professional on an initial loan deal back in 2020.

O’Rourke thinks Carrasco is a player who Steven Gerrard would love to sign and someone who would adapt well to the Premier League.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “Carrasco, I think, would be ideal for the Premier League. He’s a great attacking winger, he can score goals, provide goals as well, and he’s played at the highest level for club and country.

“So if he was to leave Atletico Madrid, I’m sure Aston Villa would love to sign him.”
