Luis Palma makes Celtic goal pledge as he insists fans will be seeing more dance moves after US tour

LUIS Palma treated Celtic’s transatlantic fans to some of his dance moves in the United States over the weekend, writes Michael Gannon in Indiana.

But the winger reckons the punters could be doing a jig this coming season after watching the Hoops waltz through pre-season. Palma and his Parkhead pals showed they have plenty of moves in a spectacular American tour. Celts thrilled supporters with 12 goals in three games and the stunning wins against Manchester City and Chelsea has seen excitement levels soar going into the new campaign.

And the scary thing for rivals is Brendan Rodgers’ side has not even peaked yet, with the manager poised to bring in some more additions that will challenge his starting line-up. Palma is determined to be in it too. The wide man showed flashes of his ability last season and his stats were certainly not to be sniffed at with 12 goals and 12 assists in Scotland and in Europe.

The Honduran has come back with a bang as well, with goals against City and Chelsea in front of tons of US-based Hondurans in the crowds – and he is hoping to show Celtic fans some more of his moves this coming campaign. Palma said: “It has been very good. It has been pretty special. It was important for me to build confidence for the new season but to play in front of so many Honduran fans was really special.

“I’m glad I could give them some good performances and score a couple of goals. They got to see me dance! I do like to dance so maybe I can do it some more this season.

“I managed to score some goals last year but I hope I can get more this year – and maybe some more dancing! I was a little bit surprised there were so many Hondurans at the games but you could see the number of fans of Celtic out there.
